SUMMER SOUNDS IN HORSHAM PARK

SUN 21 AUG – 2.30pm, Horsham Park Bandstand – The East Grinstead Concert Band are once again returning to the beautiful Horsham Park as part of Horsham Council’s “Summer Sounds” Season for this FREE open-air concert. The historic bandstand is set in a wonderful setting –  and very close to the café, so grab a ‘cuppa’ and a cake and join us for an afternoon of entertainment for ALL the family.

BLUEBELL RAILWAY – VINTAGE TRANSPORT WEEKEND 2016 (pics)

The East Grinstead Concert Band (under the banner of the Bluebell Railway Band) were back at Horsted Keynes Station for the Bluebell’s Vintage Transport Weekend.  As usual there were displays of vintage and classic cars, stationary engines, commercial vans, steam road engines and motorbikes.  The Band played on both days and were really happy to play in the lovely sunshine to such an enthusiastic audience.

BLUEBELL RAILWAY – SEASIDE WEEKEND (pics)

The East Grinstead Concert Band (under the banner of the Bluebell Railway Band) were pleased to be return to Horsted Keynes Station for the Bluebell’s Seaside Weekend. The paddock at the Station was turned into a sandy beach, with donkey rides, Punch & Judy shows as well as other traditional seaside entertainments for all the family.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) 2016

The East Grinstead Concert Band’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on –

WEDNESDAY 19th OCTOBER 2016 at 8pm

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at our rehearsal room (Ex-Services Club, East Grinstead) during the first half of the rehearsal.  Members are asked to bring their musical instruments as we will play as usual after the AGM has concluded.

At the AGM there will be a review of the previous year, updates for the forthcoming season and of course the election of the Band Committee.

The East Grinstead Concert Band were honoured to be invited to play at the Crowborough Arts Festival Garden Party within the grounds of the beautiful Stone Cross House, Crowborough.

We were thrilled to entertain the members of Crowborough Arts, which has a broad membership of those living within the general area of Crowborough and its surrounding villages who have an interest in all branches of the arts.

The Band accompanied the congregation (which had arrived on a special train) in a selection of hymns.  It was a wonderful Summer’s evening (rare in the UK these days!) but we were very pleased to be involved in this special service of worship.

ARMED FORCES DAY 2016 (pics)

It was our privilege to play at East Grinstead’s Armed Forces celebrations on Sat 25th June. We played a selection of music to honour HM Armed Forces including “Hearts of Oak”, “Here’s a health unto Her Majesty” and the “RAF March Past”.
